Hello out there. Well, I said there would be breaks between posts, but last month brought unexpected challenges that kept me away from this space for longer than I thought I’d be. Jeff spent more time in the hospital last month than he did at home. Poor guy has had such a rough year. He is at home now, recovering from two back to back emergency surgeries for a twisted intestine. Thanks to modern technology, they were able to see what the problem was, when we brought him in so sick and in so much pain. The folks at the hospital literally saved his life, and we’re so very grateful (!) that he is okay and on the mend. I wanted to write a long post today, sharing about our life this past month, but I need more time than I currently have available to write it all. In the meantime, I figured a short post is better than no post. I always have so much I want to write here, which is why I post on Instagram more often than I blog, because I can fit short, quick posts much more easily into my days. But I need to remind myself that short posts are okay here too.
P.S. We’ve had family and friends going through their own challenges of all kinds. If you’ve had a rough stretch too, hang in there.
P.P.S. The lilacs just finished blooming.

This comment is off topic, but I thought I’d try posting it anyways. I smiled and thought of you when I recently went to look for books for my daughter in the public library and discovered Milo Speck, Accidental agent by Linda Urban. It’s about a boy who gets sucked through a portal in the back of his dryer into the land of Ogregon, which is populated by mean and stupid ogres who read the Ogregonian and love to squash and eat people for snacks. My daughter liked it, but I thought it was OK but not great. I’ve been thinking about your little boy. It can be hard for kids to see their parents, the bedrocks of their lives be sick and suffer. Feel free to give him an extra hug. Best wishes to all of you kind and intelligent Oregonians.
