Lately I’ve been feeling grateful for….
…The family hike we went on the Thursday before last, in the woods around our house. We admired the last of the trillium in bloom, saw signs of woodpeckers, pointed out interesting mushrooms, and had fun exploring together.
.
…The abundance of frogs in our little pond this year, thanks to Jeff and B collecting all those tadpoles. We all love having so many frogs out there.
.
…Watching B’s fascination with everything, and how he wants to involve us in all of his interests. He has two ant farms he cares for and studies each day, dragonfly larvae he collected that he’s been watching transform, and constant collections of pond water to look at under the microscope.
.
…Reading a book aloud to our family each night before bed. It has become one of my favorite things each day. The boys eat sunflower seeds while I read, all of us fully immersed in the joined adventure.
.
…Sunny days to work in the garden and yard, and rainy days to get caught up indoors. The garden has been loving the mix of rain and sun, and this is the time of year when everything looks so lush and green out there.
.
…Trying some new recipes. There’s always mixed results with the experiments- oh, that one needs tweaking this way or that– but I love it when we find one that sticks and suddenly have a new favorite on rotation, the variety is so appreciated. (Have any favorites lately? Please share!)
.
…The inspiration to start writing gratitude posts here again. With so much fear and worry all around us, I feel like it’s definitely time- we need love and gratitude right now.

It’s been awhile, eh? Though gratitude has certainly found it’s way into my posts from time to time, I think my last “official” gratitude tribe post was this one from March 2018! It’s time to bring it back. (You can read more about the inspiration for The Gratitude Tribe here.) Inspired to to Join Us? I’m so glad you’ve come back, and I love the gratitude posts! I have a 6 and 3 year old, and I’m grateful for them every day. Although working full time and homeschooling is quite the adventure! Also grateful that the weather is improving – everything feels better when it’s sunny outside.
Above all, just grateful to be safe, healthy, employed, and regularly deprived of my personal space as these small ones (and their dad) show me time and again how I am their favorite safe space.

Thanks Elizabeth, I appreciate you taking the time to write. Yes, everything does feel better when it’s sunny outside- I agree. Your days sound quite full and rich right now. What an honor it is to be a safe space

Thank you for sharing, I can always use a reminder about what’s good around us.
I love what you write about B’s fascination with everything, I, too have a 10-year-old child and watching the world through her eyes is amazing

Thanks Elena! I appreciate you coming here and taking the time to leave a reply. What a gift kids are- they truly make the ordinary things in the everyday extraordinary. 🙂

Taryn, I’m so glad you’re blogging again:) I used to check your site everyday (although I never really commented), and soulemama too. It seemed as if blogging wasn’t much of thing anymore. Awesome to have both of you writing again! It always made my day. Thanks so much.
