Well, it’s been quite an eventful week around here. Last Sunday we heard of multiple fires where we live. There were three fires in our area, later classified as one. Sadly, they were intentionally set, but the culprit has been caught. When we had a hard time finding updates, friends kept us in the loop. Most of the time we haven’t had much smoke at our place, but our town has been quite smoky. The other day we got to watch helicopters dumping water on the fire. We’re feeling grateful that our town has a river running through (where they’ve been able to get water to put out the fire), and grateful to all the firefighters working so hard to put the fire out and keep everybody safe. They’ve made good progress on getting the fire contained, and we’re thankful our sweet little town of Mapleton, Oregon is still standing!

Taryn, I’m hoping and praying that your entire little family is safe. I turned on the news this morning to see an interview with the mayor of Eugene – its terrifying for me and I sit here across the entire country, I can’t imagine what it must be like for you and your families and friends living in Oregon, Washington and California. Please let us know what is happening. Hugs, love and prayers.

Stay safe, hope you guys remain ok where you are. Thinking of you all and your community and hoping those fires are all out quick.

Hope the fires there are staying away from you and yours. Take care. Keep us posted.

I’ve been thinking of you and hoping there are no fires nearby. We are camped at Sea Perch about 6 miles south of Yachats and we’ve been without power over here for 4 days due to that crazy windstorm. The power just came on late yesterday. The air quality was very bad but has improved as we are right on the ocean. I’m sending good thoughts and safety your way.
