This summer has been our busiest summer ever. Not busy in the way many friends and family have said their summers were busy- with vacations or camping trips or something along those lines… but busy with work and the garden. We’ve squeezed in plenty of summer fun to be sure- kayaking at a favorite lake, going to the beach and the river, going on some hikes… but mostly we have been at home getting things done. This summer we have grown a bigger garden than we’ve ever had before and have been working record hours in our workshop for our business. We consider it a huge blessing to be busy with orders and an abundant garden, and it is such a good feeling to see all our hard work result in many healthy meals, a pantry and freezer that fill up a little more each week, and hard earned money being put to good use. It has also been busy to the point that we really would have loved having an extra helper here (or two.. or three! This place could use a crew!) With every full jar we’ve put on the shelf, and every package taped up and sent out in the mail… we’ve felt so grateful to be able to work hard to then be able to enjoy the fruits of our labors.
