I’ve been thinking about the single heart buttons we’ve been gifting with orders this month, and wanted to share a few baby knits that are a great project for those. The first is a little hat I knit for my cousin’s baby girl a few years ago. (Just now sharing pictures.) The pattern is Capped by Laura Spargo Anderson from Foothill Stitches. (The pattern has many sizes available: Newborn, Baby, Toddler, Child, and Teen.) What an adorable hat! It was a quick project to make, and such a satisfying knit! I would definitely recommend the pattern. For yarn, I knit it up in some Ecola Worsted by Sarah at The Dye Project in the colorway Riptide. The yarn is so soft in merino wool and silk, and the variegated colors are beautiful.

The second project I wanted to share is the Bitty Caps Tee, also by Laura at Foothill Stitches. I wrote all about it before in this post. The Bitty Caps Tee is the newborn size, there is another version of the pattern with larger sizes available. I knit the newborn size for both the knitted hat and knitted tee, and since the most abundant thing in my yarn stash is single skeins of worsted weight yarn, I LOVE projects like these that are the perfect use for those skeins! We are grateful to Laura for creating these wonderful knitting patterns featuring our carved heart buttons in red cedar. These were such fun knits and great gifts too.
