Have you ever made rose petal water before? It’s so simple, and such a wonderful way to enjoy the magical essence of roses.
Infusing water with rose petals was a delightful discovery for us years back, and now we make it every summer when the roses are in bloom in the garden.
Here’s the process we did: In the mornings, we would harvest the rose petals, rinse them, and then put them in mason jars with filtered water. (If the water you’re using has a strong taste, filtered water can help the essence of rose come through best because it’s so subtle.)
Then we’d put the rose petal water in the fridge. Later in the day (or the next morning, it had more flavor that way), we would drink it.
A lovely rose flavor comes through, while being very subtle and gentle. Such a simple thing to make, and such a treat while the fresh roses are available.
I’ve heard that roses are good medicine for the heart, and this delightful drink does make your heart feel joyful. I wanted to share this with you to inspire your summer drinks since we’ve enjoyed it so much!
