Our friend Lara took this picture of me when we were harvesting huckleberries in the woods on Wednesday. (If you look closely you might even see the tips of my fingers are dyed with huckleberries.)
I was feeling it was about time for another baby update on here. My, is this belly growing! π
This week I am 9 months pregnant (36 weeks.) The funny thing is, my due date is not until the middle of October. It’s all kind of funny the way it’s counted.
I’m still feeling great. Daily life is going along just the same, with a few little changes here and there. I move the goats closer to me on the milking stand now when I milk them because it’s harder for me to bend over very far to reach them. Last year at this time I would have been helping haul firewood, hay and all other sorts of things. No heavy lifting for me now, so that’s another change. I’m still as active as I’ve always been (just a little slower hiking up the mountain.)
Baby dances around all the time and seems to be getting pretty big for this belly. I read that baby is gaining an ounce a day. Wow!
We are planning a waterbirth at home with our midwives and have been slowly getting things ready for it. (A hose for the tub and all those things.)
My most recent pregnancy craving is grapes. I’m craving the local, purple grapes with the crunchy seeds. There are several kinds around here that I love! I’m waiting for more grapes to ripen (they are late this year.)
We’ve been busy as ever and there’s still so much I want to do for baby’s arrival. One step at a time, we’re getting there.
It’s amazing to think that soon we will be looking into this baby’s eyes…… my heart soars at the thought.
