Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
…Bits of nature outside our door. On our front walk was a little branch covered in this gorgeous lichen. The three of us were exclaiming over it.
.
…Deciding to have a home day when we really needed one. Then getting a lot done and being so glad I made that choice.
.
…The meal Jeff made for us after a long market day. Don’t know how he even had the energy to make such a good meal after such a long day, but he did and it was delicious and much appreciated.
.
…Meeting a deadline. Phew. It was something I had really been wanting to do, but time felt particularly sparse. I was so happy when I finished it.
.
…Welcoming Jeff home with a clean house and a warm soup.
.
…Receiving holiday cards in the mail, so fun this time of year.
.
…Getting to skype with my sister and brother in law. What a treat! We missed them after our trip and it was so great to not just hear their voices, but see their faces at the same time.
.
…Going to a new thrift store and getting a few much needed things for my guys.
.
…Being safe after a truck nearly ran into us. They were driving like a maniac and even though Jeff had put on his turn indicators long ahead of time and had been slowing down to turn, they came barreling behind us like they didn’t see us at all. Jeff had to swerve into another lane and he saved our lives. We were both shaking for a long time after that and felt incredibly grateful to be alive!
.
…Bracken helping me in the kitchen at dinnertime every night. So glad I slowed down and invited him to join me, we’ve been really enjoying our kitchen time making dinner together.
.
…Inside on a rainy, stormy day, playing with friends. (And our four year old friend exclaiming: “Hey Mr. Moth Pants!” to the moth in the window. I found it quite hilarious.)
.
…How happy Bracken gets when we pick up a new stack of books from the library.
.
…Homemade soup. There’s just something so wonderful about homemade soup, isn’t there?
