Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
…All the green, green, green outside our door, in this place we live.
.
…Fixing the latch on the front gate. Though not a big deal, was a little thing I’d been wanting to do for a long time.
.
…The (battery-powered) bike lights that our market friend gifted to Bracken. They brought him so much joy as he rode around the house with his trike all wrapped up in them, insisting we turn off all the lights as he went. (Thanks Jolaine!)
.
…Having eggs to trade and gift.
.
…How helpful Bracken was at getting the chickens back in their yard whenever they get out.
.
…The secondhand table our friend found for us that was exactly what we were looking for. He has a gift for finding treasures at the thrift stores.
.
…Bracken putting on a dance performance for us in the living room to The Wailin’ Jennies.
.
…Jeff’s great idea to laminate a special piece of Bracken’s artwork and turn it into a bookmark. It was one of his very first drawings with people. He described it to me: “Dada and Bracken on a warm day in the garden with green beans and runner bean flowers.”
.
…Fixing the strap on my favorite purse. Little mending projects can be so satisfying. A few minutes work for so much peace of mind.
.
…Getting our wheelbarrow tire fixed. Always gotta have a working wheelbarrow!
.
…Starting the day with a clean kitchen.
.
…Jeff getting the trees removed that had branches touching our power line. (And our neighbors showing up at just the right moment and offering to help with the last two that were rather tricky.)
.
…Finding the boxes of organic tangerines at a grocery store in town again. We love them and they are so much more affordable to buy that way.
.
…The hand-me-down rain gear and boots that our friend gave Bracken. The boots were high quality ones I had wanted to buy him, but they were out of the budget, we were so grateful!
.
…That the electricity came back on this morning in a timely manner so I could hit the publish button on this post!
