Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
…How bright that beautiful yellow color, on the irises out back, looks on a rainy day.
.
…Whenever my broth turns out really good.
.
…Crawling into freshly washed sheets after a really long day. Ahhh.
.
…Finding a shirt in my favorite shade of green (that also happened to fit perfectly) at the thrift store for 3 something. Have a new favorite now and can’t beat the price.
.
…A day when it felt like everything was on the flow. The timing, the synchronicities. Love it when that happens.
.
…The things Bracken does to make me laugh. (This week he picked out an especially colorful shirt to wear and then told me, in all seriousness, that no one would recognize him because he was so colorful! Bless his heart.)
.
…Chatting with other moms and always learning so much.
.
…Witnessing a little one’s very first steps! How magical it was to see that moment, I felt blessed to be there.
.
…Discovering a container of water by our compost pile that we didn’t know about, filled with mosquito larvae, and dumping it out. Hooray for less mosquitoes around here! (Every little bit helps.)
.
…Our very first strawberry out of the garden!
.
…Bracken showing us a new color of iris that we had never seen blooming here before, down by the peach tree.
.
…Selling our first Chicken Crossing signs online, thanks to my mom’s sweet cousin. (Thanks Angie!)
.
…The sound of the washing machine going in the pantry. I don’t know why, but it’s a comforting sound to me.
.
…Romantic comedies. I’m a total sucker for them. Doesn’t even matter if I know what’s going to happen from the beginning.
.
…Heading out to the Wildflower & Music Festival today. Yippee!

next time you find mosquito larvae try feeding it to your chickens my love that kind of funky stuff
That’s a great idea. Jeff suggested I do that next time as well.
I love reading what you are grateful for every week- it reminds me to enjoy the simple things! For me this week it would be:
my tomato starts are hanging in there despite our cool wet week
a lovely get together with close friends- good food and music around the backyard bon fire
my 24 year old son home from Maui
a southern Oregon spring and lots of rain!
I love hearing about what you’re grateful for this week, Denise! Good food and music around the backyard bon fire… that’s the best. 🙂 Enjoy your time with your son.
I love it when my broth turns out so yummy too! And the feeling of nice freshly washed sheets is wonderful. And finding the perfect thing at a thrift store feels like a secret victory. I thoroughly enjoy visiting with mom friends. And I TOTALLY love romantic comedies.
We’re kindred spirits, I’d say. 🙂
I know what you mean about the romantic movies. I can watch The Holiday every time it comes on. And Under the Tuscan Sun. My 2 favorites. The yellow iris is beautiful. We finally got rain yesterday, a little. Then all night. It’s still sprinkling a bit now. We SO needed this!
right on sister! eat love pray also
And I forgot Bridesmaid. Love that movie and watch it every time it comes on. I need to watch the whole Eat Love Pray movie.
I don’t think I’ve seen Bridesmaid either! Thanks for the suggestions! I saw Eat Pray Love on our last plane ride and it was wonderful. I’m sure you’ve already seen it, but a favorite from years back is ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding.’ It’s fantastic!
I saw that over the summer, loved it!
I love Under The Tuscan Sun! I don’t think I’ve ever seen the Holiday, I’ll have to look that up. And hooray for rain, we really needed it too!
