…Joining Ginny’s YarnAlong, sharing what I’m knitting and reading…
Working on a little surprise with this gorgeous yarn from Timberwolf Farm. The yarn was dyed with marigolds and I love, love the color. I’ll share more about the project when I can.
Bracken and I finished reading Little House in the Big Woods awhile back, but this week he asked me to please read the part about Pa finding the bee tree. I went back and we read the bee story again, I love that part of the book too!
I was really into reading A Place To Lay My Head, which I mentioned last week, but by the time I got a chance to start reading it I had already renewed it once and needed to return it this week. I plan to check it back out from the library soon so I can finish reading it.
How about you? Knitting? Reading?
Oh, I’m looking forward to seeing what the surprise might be! The colour of the yarn is indeed delicious.
Love the Little House series. I read them as a girl and then read them to my girls when they were growing up. If you have a son, he may like “Farmer Boy” also. Though….I am sure you are already familiar with it if you are a Laura Ingalls Wilder fan.
We’re reading Farmer Boy right now. Love it! A favorite of mine. 🙂
The Little House books are so wonderful. I gave each of my girls a complete set.
I am having doing some natural dyeing also. I am about to start trying some staghorn sumac. I don’t believe you have it out west but I am hoping for a pinkish color?
My question is this…did you mordant the yarn with anything first? If so, what.
Enjoy and have a wonderful day.
Hello Bianca,
I don’t have an answer to your question because I wasn’t the one who dyed the yarn. It came that way when I bought it, our friend dyed it. Good luck with your dyeing adventures, though!
I loved the Laura books as a girl and so did Abi. My favourite was the long winter! x
