…Joining Ginny’s YarnAlong, sharing what I’m knitting and reading…
I’m still working away on Bracken’s birthday vest. The reason my knitting is a different color than last week is because I didn’t think I would have enough of this beautiful yellow to knit the whole vest, so I’m knitting the back of the vest in brown and the front in yellow. The construction of this vest is different than I’m used to since it’s not knit in the round, but rather in pieces and then seamed together. I’m obsessed with bright yellow right now and it’s pretty much the only color I want to knit with. (And since I adore the black walnut wood with yellow yarn, Jeff is making the buttons for it in black walnut.)
I finished reading The Continuum Concept, which was such an interesting read, then started a new book this week that I’ve been looking forward to. When we went to the Mother Earth News Fair in June, I saw two speakers who co-authored a book together, called Practical Permaculture. I requested it from the library and rather than bring it in from another library, they ordered it, which I’m especially grateful for because being that it is a rather large book, I like knowing that I will be able to check it out again and have access to it in the future. I’m not very far into it, but I can tell it’s going to be full of inspiration and is right up our alley.
How about you? Knitting? Reading?
