Before I shared the butterflies and today, the plants and birds we saw at Butterfly World. (See, I told you I took a lot of pictures!) All that color in February was a joy to see, I must say. There were many flowers and plants that were new to me and the brilliant blue hummingbirds were something I didn’t even know existed. A finch landed on my Mom’s head and she screamed in surprise, which we all found pretty hilarious. Then when she sat down on a bench, Bracken protected her head so no more birds would land on it. (Ha!) I loved that there was a garden center at the end where you could buy butterfly plants for your own garden. What a magical place!

Your photos are so great. All that color this time of year seems hard to imagine, but spring is coming. Are these from your new camera? Love.
Side note/question; My daughter has an interview in Eugene on Monday, could you recommend a couple places to hang out while I wait for her. Yarn, second hand store or maybe somewhere we could get an early dinner/snack before driving over to the coast. We always just drive through and I don’t know the area as well as I would like. If you don’t see this till later, busy, whatever, no worries. Thanks.

Hi Traci,
Yes, I took those pictures with my new camera. I’m having so much fun with it. 🙂
As for places in Eugene, here are two favorite food spots:
-Vanilla Jill’s. They have the BEST ice cream in every flavor you can imagine. They also have delicious soups and other yummy things there. It’s a favorite place of ours. (http://www.vanillajills.com/)
-Another place with great food is Falling Sky Brewing -Pour House Delicatessen. (The location on Blair. https://fallingskybrewing.com/locations.html) They use good local ingredients and their food is delicious.
If you go to one of those spots, let me know what you think. 🙂 I don’t have a favorite yarn shop in Eugene, my favorite yarn shop is actually in Corvallis. There are lots of secondhand stores in Eugene, but I don’t have a particular favorite of those either. Have a great day and good luck to your daughter!

Oh, your photos are so beautiful. The Passion flower is spectacular. I love how Bracken protects his Grandma. I like how kind and informative the signs are too.

This certainly looks like a magical place. I can imagine how much Bracken must have enjoyed seeing all the butterflies and the birds.
