It’s been so very rainy around here. When the sun pokes through, it makes everything feel so different. These are some random, sunny day snapshots.
Some days the coffee table is moved aside and all the train tracks are dumped out in the middle of the floor. Bracken loves putting the track together. When friends came over Jeff and I helped put the track together for the kids, Bracken isn’t the only one who enjoys doing it!
Bracken kept asking for a grow-your-own-mushrooms kit. When it went on super sale at the grocery store, I got him one. He mists it regularly with his spray bottle and has already fed us one meal of oyster mushrooms. He asked me “Do you like my homegrown mushrooms?” Yes I do, very much!
We’ve been loving to juice cilantro, it makes such a vibrant green juice. We juice other things in the mix, but always make a point to have cilantro on hand for juicing. It’s so good for you and it also has a rare ability to remove heavy metals from the body (without removing any minerals etc.), making it a great gentle, though effective detoxifier.
Bracken found a worm in the garden and decided to keep it as a pet for a few days. He made a home for it that he filled with lots of dirt. He is also very fond of starting his own “worm farms” in the garden and has been known to create those on many occasions.
Another thing he loves to do in the garden is to water the plants. He can regularly be seen with a watering can in his hand. It doesn’t matter if it’s wintertime and everything is soggy, he still wants to water. What makes watering even more fun is the “sprayer” filled with water. Bracken has to pump it up and then he gets to spray everything to water it.
Oh, and when the skies are clear, it’s always a great time to split some firewood and haul it in the house!

It’s an Omega juicer and let me know if you want me to look up the model number or anything. We love it. 🙂

hi Taryn, what do you use to keep the pine from sooting up the chimney? every time I burn pine it isn’t long before we’re getting smoke in the house from a clogged spark arrestor, and a restricted chimney…. thanks, Bobbie

Hi Bobbie, I don’t know what to tell you because we’ve never experienced a problem with that before.
