As you can see, I didn’t take as many pictures at this year’s Wildflower and Music Festival as I did last year. With the drizzle, I kept putting my camera away. The attendance was down this year due to the rain, but there was great music all day long, we looked at flowers (Bracken liked the money plant, like the one we have at home) and nature art, we saw friends, and we enjoyed ourselves. Our friends had a booth there this year, which made us so happy because we could visit them throughout the day. Last year I saw that there were guided nature walks at the festival, but Bracken and I were so busy checking out everything else that we didn’t make it to one. This year we did. Our guide was a master herbalist named Sue Sierralupe and she was such a wealth of information, I could have taken notes, but as it is I remembered a few interesting tidbits about some of the plants we came across. I want to go on another guided nature walk at next year’s festival.
Bracken had a successful second weekend of his business, Bracken’s Bookmarks. In fact he almost sold out. (He’s been busy working on more.) His bestsellers have been his mermaid bookmarks. (I also love that one pictured, it was “Bleeding Heart Dancers” inspired by the bleeding heart flowers in the garden that he loves so much.) I knit some flower garlands and gave most of them away. It brings me so much joy to see children wearing them. We’ve been liking our painted earrings lately, they are such a fun burst of color amidst all the wood, and I’ve been joking that we have the world’s smallest paintbrush. But seriously, it’s really tiny. We are all fans of Jeff’s newest painted earrings- butterflies. He also made a gorgeous new pendant display for our booth. When he first pulled out the piece of wood from the woodshed, it didn’t look that exciting to me, but Jeff knew it was going to be amazing once he sanded it and he was right- he had the vision and was able to see the beauty beneath the layers.
Good music makes for a good day. And flowers are always lovely to see, even in the rain.
P.S. My favorite picture from the day? A snapshot of three friends working on crafts at the craft booth for kids. Love.

I didn’t find the butterfly earrings in your etsy shop. Are They available?

Hello Nora! Thanks for asking. I didn’t have any posted in the shop yet, but I made a custom listing for you if you would like a pair. They are $32 because of all the work that goes into making them and then painting them. 🙂 Here is the link: https://www.etsy.com/listing/384719364/reserved-listing-butterfly-earrings?ref=shop_home_active_1
