{ G r a t i t u d e * S u n d a y :: Sunday’s heartfelt tradition.
A time to slow down, to reflect, to be grateful. A list of gratitudes.}

Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
…My mom coming all this way to spend Christmas with us. And Bracken having his favorite Christmas ever.
.
…Having our internet working again!
.
…My mom and grandma introducing us to the Southwest Florida Eagle Cam, and giving us updates. One of Harriet’s babies just hatched! Bracken hears about the eagles every time he talks to his grandma, and we all exclaimed over how cute and fuzzy that baby eagle was.
.
…Frankincense and myrrh on the woodstove. I love those smells.
.
…My sister inspiring me to pick up a pen and paper and start drawing again. I hadn’t realized how much I had missed it until I was drawing again. Feels so good to do the things we love, doesn’t it?
.
…Ignoring the messes around me and the to-do list for a few hours to have some creative time I was so in need of.
.
…Bracken’s artwork. And his imagination.
.
…Getting back into healthy habits and routines, and spending more time in the kitchen making nourishing meals.
.
…The whole house smelling like cedar from the cedar kindling we brought in.
.
…Helping Jeff get his outdoor shop ready for the winter. And getting it done while the skies were clear, right before the rain started to fall.
.
…A new year! Happy New Year everyone!

Can you let me know how you add the oils to the wood stove? I’ve tried burning orange peel which is supposed to add orange-y smells to the room but no success so far. I suspect it is due to not being an open fire.

Hello Joy! We buy frankincense and myrrh in resin form from Mountain Rose Herbs and then you can place a little heat-safe dish on the top of the woodstove and place the resins in it. Or if you don’t mind if it makes a mess on the top of your woodstove (which is the case with our old one) you can simply place a few pieces of the resin on top. 🙂

I will look out for some resins in the UK, i was thinking that you must just drop essential oils onto the top of the stove or similar. Lucky i asked. I just set fire to the vacuum cleaner bag yesterday sucking up the ashes, so heaven knows what i would’ve done putting oil on the fire!
