Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
…Having the right timing on our way home from our day at the coast to see the lighthouse all lit up. Such a beautiful sight!
.
…Jeff having the kitchen cleaned up, all the dishes washed, and breakfast made. Bless him. We were able to head out the door early that morning when we had a full day of errands to run.
.
…Getting the last of the paperwork turned in that I needed to for an upcoming festival. Phew! That felt really good to finish.
.
…Jeff and I bringing in enough firewood in the house to not have to worry about it for awhile.
.
…A sunny day, some outside time, and Bracken asking me to help him in his garden. He wanted to get it ready for planting season and I guess it’s never too early to get started, even in January. Then I trimmed the raspberries while he fed the chickens greens, and we soaked up all the time outside we could get.
.
…Doing things to regenerate myself when I run out of steam later in the day like going outside to get some fresh air, making a nourishing smoothie that perks me up, reading an inspiring blog, or taking a short knitting break. Even a few minutes of doing one of those things can really refresh me.
.
…That days can turn around. Even when you’ve reached the last straw and spilled sardines all over your knitting. (Seriously.) And how my mood can change so instantly with some good laughter. Suddenly I feel lighter and everything I felt so upset about before doesn’t feel as heavy as it did.
.
…The bliss of sleeping in when you really need it. And lingering in dreamland a little longer.
.
…Making a new kind of soup with pork sausage and cabbage, onions, mushrooms, and kale. I was inspired by a pork and cabbage soup I had eaten and I’m glad I gave it a try at home, it was delicious.
.
…How much more relaxed I am when I know it’s Sunday. No orders to mail out that day, no errands to run… just time at home with my family. There’s still plenty to do, but somehow I don’t feel as stressed about it on Sunday.
