{G r a t i t u d e * S u n d a y :: Sunday’s heartfelt tradition. A time to slow down, to reflect, to be grateful. A list of gratitude.}

Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
…The cactus’s we saw in California. I hadn’t seen any in quite some time, so it was fun spotting them down there.
.
…Getting back into the habit of writing in my gratitude journal each night. It grounds me and centers me, and helps me feel peaceful before bed. I usually keep up with it even when we travel, but our last trip was just too busy for that.
.
…Jeff fixing our phone line when we got back from our trip (he was a phone guy a long time ago), which saved us money because we didn’t need to pay for someone else to do it. He sure is handy, and we’re glad to have our internet working again.
.
…Getting an application mailed out in time for an upcoming festival.
.
…Knitting again! I was much too busy tying buttons on cards in preparation for the show to do any knitting, so I’m mighty happy to have my hands free for knitting once more, especially since I got so inspired at Stitches West for all kinds of projects I want to make.
.
…Such a great response when I opened our online shop back up! Thank you. It was already low on stock when I opened it back up, and now I really need to get it filled up with more buttons.
.
…Unpacking and getting settled back into home. It feels good to have some home time after so much time away last month.
.
…Listening to a documentary while I cleaned in the kitchen and made dinner. It sure made the time fly and I was surprised when I looked around me to see how much I had accomplished while my mind was so occupied and interested in what I was hearing.
.
…Finding frozen pomegranates at the grocery store. We’d never had them frozen before, and they were delicious.
.
…A warm house and a roof over our heads. I don’t want to take that for granted because it’s definitely something to be grateful for.

I love your blog! The californian cactus is indeed a NOPAL. It is part of the mexican cuisine. Maybe you would like to try it: http://www.mexicoinmykitchen.com/2009/06/how-to-cook-cactus-paddles-nopales-como.html
There a lot of recipes in the web about nopales.
Big hug!

Thanks Shirley! I’m glad to know the name of that type of cactus, nopal, and love learning that it’s edible. I appreciate you sharing that link!
