I did a shop update on Sunday, and then today just finished posting the last few sets of buttons I had photographed for it. A shop update was overdue and it felt good to get some new button sets listed. I listed twenty new sets (it’s a start), choosing a fun variety of woods and designs. Head on over to the shop if you’d like to see what’s new. There are two sets of turtle buttons in Oregon myrtlewood that Jeff carved, special because of all the extra time and energy that went into making them. I adore them. (There’s also a gorgeous carved celtic knot button in black walnut.) I included quite a few mixed sets in this update because I can’t get enough of them. I so enjoy creating the mixed sets and love the way they look on the finished cards. They can be used for projects that require single buttons, but what I really love the mixed button sets for are sweaters with the different buttons down the front. So fun!
And speaking of mixed button sets… Jeff and I thought it would be fun to do a little giveaway here. We’ll be giving away the set of buttons shown above to one lucky reader. The set includes a carved heart button in red cedar wood and another in Oregon juniper, and a chicken button in Oregon myrtlewood. The other buttons are curly maple wood, hickory wood, and black walnut wood. (The buttons range from 3/4 inch wide to between 3/4 and 1 inch wide.) I think it’s a really sweet set and I’m looking forward to seeing what one of you creates with it!

If you feel like sharing, just for fun, what would you make with this mixed set if you won it?

those buttons are so much fun!
Your buttons are beautiful! One would look great with the new cardigan I crocheter for my new daughter (she was born Tuesday)!
With those beautiful & unique buttons, it would force
me to finally learn how to follow a pattern and knit a sweater for my daughter
Such lovely buttons! The set with different designs is a good idea.
The buttons you make are beautiful.
Beautiful buttons! The turtle ones are gorgeous!
I’ve been feeling uninspired in my knitting g of late and some of your lovely wooden buttons might just be the trick to getting me going again!
I would make a set of fingerless cuffs with those buttons. Or I would put them on my favorite cardigan to freshen it up.
I love your buttons! Such amazing talent. A set would look perfect on my favourite cardigan!
These would be great for a kid’s scarf or cowl, hat and mitten set. The buttons would not only decorate the pieces, but they could be used to keep everything together (ie: button the hat and mittens to the scarf) when the kids take them off, like when they get to school, or even at home so getting ready in the morning isn’t a hunting expedition. Come to think of it, I could use a system like that myself.
Love this, add my name to the hat!
I love your buttons and have gotten them in the past. I love this set and would either make a sweater for myself or daughter or a sweater for a child. They are so fun!!!!!! Love them. I hope I win (sounds selfish)
You are such a great family. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be able to
win such beautiful buttons including a Chicken button . Where we live chickens were banned until recently .It took many hours of convincing suburban folks that chickens made less noise then dogs. On the fourth of September we will be inaugurating our brand new chicken coop and placing our legal chickens in it.
If I winI think I would probably knit a sweater for Isabella our smallest chicken and sew the beautiful chicken button on it. Thanks Again
here
What a lovely selection of buttons and really enjoyed this post!
One or two of these adorable buttons would look great on a knitted neck wrap. Hope they’ll be mine!!!
These buttons are all so special. I am knitting a darling (open in the front) vest for my friends little girl right now and the buttons would be perfect. Will definitely hop over to your store. So many possibilities! Thank you for a wonderful give away-❤
How fun! I’ve loved your work for many years. Hmmm….what lovely projects would benefit from homemade wooden buttons? The list really is endless 🙂 Thanks!
Your buttons are beautiful! If I win them I would set the entire card close to my computer somewhere so I could admire them for a long time, while deciding where I want to use them. But I tend to think I might make some kind of a piece of jewelry or hair piece with them..Maybe even a headband. Or maybe turn them into some sort of a special ornamental key chain to hang from the outside of my purse. 🙂
Thanks for the chance to win.
As always, I love them all!! I just started the Ramona and whether I win or not, some of your buttons will be on that sweater. I think my girls have received all the button love lately and now it’s my turn! Yea!!!
Those turtles are the sweetest! I think a mixed set on a hand-knit cardigan would be amazing. 🙂 Thanks for the chance to win.
I love these buttons and would love to end your giveaway. Thank you so much for the giveaway. 🙂 I collect buttons and add them to my projects or crocheted items.
Love

Your buttons, which are art, are beautiful. I am always drawn to wood work of any kind and always wished I were gifted to work with wood. I enjoy your posts very much. These buttons would be beautiful used any way.

Lovely buttons! I especially like the ones with the chickens and turtles.
I LOVE your mixed sets! I am working on a Citadel sweater by Joji Locatelli….and would love to use those buttons!
I’d love to win a sampler of Jeff’s buttons! Thank you for the giveaway.
I am not much of a maker right now, but I may rip the buttons off an existing sweater and sew these sweet ones on! And maybe get out my machine and make something for my little granddaughter Piper Jane and use a couple there too. So beautiful! Thank you for sharing your beautiful craft with us!
I love the mixed sets so much. I’m knitting my first cardigan and they would look so lovely and whimsical on it!
Beautiful… I’d certainly be delighted if I won these!
I already have 2 set of buttons from you on 2 of my favorite cardigans.
Love your buttons (I have a fab shawl pin that Jeff made), but it would definitely be outside of my comfort range to use mixed buttons as I’m AR/OCD. But that said, your suggestion of using them on a sweater makes sense, especially if that was a sweater for a keiki..
Your buttons are a work of art and so beautiful.
How kind of you to offer your beautiful buttons in this giveaway!!!! I am in the midst of crocheting Christmas gifts and what a joy it would be to embellish each with one of your lovely buttons!!!
The buttons are really beautiful.
Lovely buttons. I have a comfy flannel in need of buttons, plus I just love them. I’ve been a collector since I was a child. Thanks, as always, for sharing your work.
I’m not sure what I would use the buttons for. One main project like a cardigan or on several smaller projects?
I love these buttons. They are truly work of art. I would be so happy to have them on a knitting project.
Absolutely beautiful buttons! I am knitting my very first sweater, and I would love to win.
These buttons are so beautiful and unique.thank you for sharing the post and link
I think The buttons are beatiful again and I would love to use them on A Scarf I have been knitting from Wool , I do The proces to get A thread all The way by myself. But I live in The netherlands so thats A bit far away from you xxxx
Love everything !
Lovely giveaway! I think I would use the buttons in a button bracelet, mixed with some pretty vintage beads that compliment the buttons nicely!
So happy for the shop update! Love the turtles.
ohh, wow!

I’d give the buttons to my mum, as she’s the knitter in our family 🙂
I’ve admired y’alls work for years! I would love to win!
I always love your buttons! They are works of art! Thank you for the chance to win some!
Your buttons are so beautiful and unique. I adore using them on my knitting projects. I am knitting a fall/winter sweater for my newly turned one year old. The mixed set would be fun to use on her sweater.
Beautiful buttons, so much talent. I would love to win and use these in a special knitting project.
Love your buttons! I can see these on a cardigan for my granddaughter.
Absolutely beautiful buttons! I love my necklaces that my hubby has purchased from you, they are some of treasured items. Would love to find a reason to use the buttons on a special project.
