It’s that time of year again. These are some of the mushrooms we saw popping up this past week around our yard and the surrounding woods. We’re heading to the Mushroom Festival at Mt. Pisgah today, where we’ll have a booth. (I’m skipping Gratitude Sunday this week.) Yesterday we enjoyed the most gorgeous fall weather while we set up our booth. I haven’t been ready to stop wearing flip flops (I wear them as long as possible) and yesterday was definitely warm enough for them. In a hurry to get out the door, and having a bad hair day (falling asleep with wet hair made for the craziest bed head) I quickly grabbed my wool hat to wear. I laughed that I was wearing flip flops and a wool hat at the same time. (Maybe I’ll start a new trend. Ha!) Later in the day it felt much too hot to be wearing a wool hat, but today looks like it will be cooler. I’ll bring my wool hat along just in case, but I don’t think the weather today is calling for flip flops. It’s the end of October so I realize that soon it will be time to put them away for awhile.
