I stopped buying calendars awhile ago (though I still get myself a yearly pocket planner) because I’ve discovered that I love printing out free calendar pages online to put up on our fridge instead of having a whole calendar up. I print one for the current month and one for the upcoming month, having two months up on the fridge at a time. (I’ve been using print-a-calendar.com, though I’m sure there are lots to choose from online.)
I love to fill out my calendar for each month and most of the time I decorate it with pictures and if Bracken is interested that day, he colors the pictures in, otherwise I do. We cross off the days, and the whole family enjoys seeing what’s on the schedule, and can check the fridge any time we need to remember when something is. It helps me stay organized, and organizing makes me happy. (And so does drawing little pictures and filling out calendars!)
It felt good putting up our fresh calendar pages for January and February for the new year. The most exciting thing on our January schedule has been a trip to Florida to visit my mom, which is where we are now. (We head home soon.) We usually visit her in February, but decided on January for this year. February is such a full month for us with Stitches West, and in January, I felt so ready to head to Florida for some sunshine and was glad not to wait for another month! I didn’t bring my work this time, like I did last year. I will be tying lots of buttons on cards when I return home, to be sure, but for now we have one last day to enjoy Florida- so off I go!

Has your etsy shop closed? Are you no longer selling your wood buttons? Every link I found to try and purchase buttons took me to a page that told me your etsy site no longer exists. ????

Hello Lindy,
Thanks for writing, SO sorry about that! I didn’t pay my Etsy bill while I was on vacation- whoops, so the shop was temporarily closed. It’s back up and running now. 🙂

I hope you’re having a wonderful holiday in the sun! I’m liking the calender page idea, we seem to get given several calendars each Christmas which I dutifully put on the wall and write things on but I often forget to actually check them and have been known to miss appointments! Maybe separate pages on the fridge would get us all more involved and focused, might be worth a try. Thanks for sharing the idea, Kathie.

It’s been working for us, so thought it was worth sharing. Let me know if it works for you too. 🙂

it was so nice to meet you and Bracken and your mom. I hope you had a nice time in Florida. It usually isn’t this cold here. and i hope you liked the yarn store as well.

Hi Daune! It was so great getting to meet you, I’m so glad you said hello! I’m still SO amazed at the coincidence- being there at the same time. I enjoyed the shop, thanks for the recommendation. 🙂
