When my mom saw the Jane hat I knit for myself, she told me she wanted one, so the last time she was visiting I had her look through my yarn to pick which skein she wanted for her hat. She picked this pretty blue skein in merino wool and silk, from Mosaic Moon Yarn. The name of the colorway- Mists of London– was perfect for her because my mom loves London, it’s one of her favorite places to visit. I got started on her hat in the spring, and it was a (belated) Mother’s Day gift for her. (You can tell that second picture is not recent because the grass in our yard is no longer green this late in the summer. I’m still loving my yarn swift, by the way.) I got some pictures of my mom wearing her Jane hat during our last trip. (Side note to the knitters out there: I made the same adjustment that I did on mine, by shortening it, so it wasn’t slouchy. Ravelry notes here.) It fits, she is happy with her new hat, and she noticed that it matches her mitts, which was a nice bonus!
What a pretty hat! I’ve been pondering hats again, as here in PA it is already starting to turn “fall-ish” and all my kids keep outgrowing the hats I make them! I always love to see your projects…you’re a far better knitter than I! Ha!
