The first daffodils started blooming earlier this month, in the snow. Flowers and snow always seem like a funny combination to me. Then the weather changed from cold and wintry, to warm and springy. (Is that a word?) Just when I was about to come here, saying that the birds were singing, more flowers were blooming, the weather was warming, and it was really starting to feel like spring…. we saw snow in the forecast. Maybe the winter weather was hanging on for awhile longer? We didn’t end up getting snow over the weekend. We did get hailed on a handful of times though.
We worked on getting more seeds planted and some garden clean up done. We were busy planting horseradish when some hail came and I thought “horseradish in a hailstorm” sounded like a catchy tune or name of a blog post. I made my own horeradish sauce for the first time recently. It was incredibly delicious, and Jeff and I decided we wanted to grow lots of horseradish in the garden so I can make a constant supply of it. We had our yearly bonfire over the weekend, and got a lot of clean up done. It felt good to cross that off our list. There are quite a few things on our list right now, so I feel like celebrating each and every one we finish!
Have any of you been planting any seeds for your gardens yet? Or working on any projects? We always love hearing what you’re up to. Does it feel like spring where you are? Or is winter hanging on a little longer?
