.:Blueberries, raspberries, carrots, zucchini, and beets from Groundwork Organics.
(We visit this booth every week and Bracken often uses the money from his “penny bag” to buy berries here. Quite a few people know him by name.)
.:Raw, unfiltered honey and beeswax candles from Humble Bee Honey.
(Their honey is delicious and we use beeswax from them in our salves. Plus Bracken has a cute baby friend there we like to visit.)
.:Flowers from C & K’s Flower Garden.
(They gave one to Bracken which I thought was really sweet. Every now and then I buy a bouquet here for special occasions. They have affordable arrangements that are so beautiful.)
.:Hazelnuts and garlic from Honor Earth Farm.
(Bracken calls Linda “the nut lady” and wants to visit her every week. She kindly gives him samples. Sometimes he would literally run over to her and hold out his hand, waiting. I smile every time I see the sign in her booth that Jeff made.)
.:Cucumbers from Lost Creek Farm.
(Beautiful vegetables. I only got a picture of their cucumbers this time.)
.:Pastured eggs, hot dogs, and sausages from Deck Family Farm.
(We love this family. We go to their farm usually a few times a year and visit their market booth regularly. We get pork fat from them to make lard and their pasture raised chicken is the best. We can trust that our meat is of the highest quality when it comes from their farm.)
.:White elm mushrooms and shittakes from The Mushroomery.
(I first discovered my love for cauliflower mushrooms after purchasing some from this booth. They always have a variety of mushrooms that they grow or wild harvest. And I ask them questions regularly about growing mushrooms. Thanks to their growing kits, we got started growing white elm mushrooms.)
.:Potted plants from Fox Hollow Creek Nursery.
(We ask Mike questions about growing different things and purchase plants from him for our garden. If he doesn’t have it in his booth, he can bring it for you from the nursery. Also above: Bracken with his own farmer’s market basket. It’s so nice when he can carry his own berries.)
.:Early apples, lettuce, and applesauce from SLO Farm.
(Above Bracken was doing a happy apple dance since we hadn’t expected to see them that day. We like to say hi to Rachel and sometimes Bracken spends his money on her dried apples. And we get really happy when her plums and apples are ready. She got me hooked on liberty apples.)
.:Garlic and basil from Sweet Leaf Organics.
(This booth always has such a colorful array of fresh produce. I think of our friends that used to work there every time we pass.)
.:Bonsai trees from Sekao Bonsai Trees.
(Bracken has one of these from his Grandpa Bob. We brought one for Bracken’s friend for his birthday. I think they make great gifts.)
.:Cauliflower and green beans from Winter Green Farm.
(We pass by this farm when we drive the “back way” to Eugene sometimes. It’s a beautiful sight.)
.:Onions, zucchini, peaches, and watermelon from McKenzie River Farm.
(Yep, the same farm where we just went blueberry picking. Sometimes they have dried blueberries. They’re really delicious.)
.:Blueberry samples from Royal Blueberries.
(For some reason I thought it was so funny to see blueberries on toothpicks for sampling. I know a little someone who would have liked to stand there and “sample” all day long.)
I love this tree at the farmer’s market and think the bark is so beautiful.
(Anyone know what kind of tree this is?)
Thank you for supporting farmers!
Faether says
Those trees that shed their bark are Platanus. I think its planes/sycamores in english but check wiki to be sure.
Love the teacup bonsais, btw 🙂
