Jeff’s daughter’s birthday is the day next to his and this year I wanted to knit something cozy for her. (I’ve been meaning to share this project ever since because it was such an enjoyable one to knit.) I decided on a cowl and chose the Drop Stitch Cowl pattern by Abi Gregorio. (The pattern is available for free on Ravelry.) I wasn’t sure at first what color yarn to choose for her, but when I found that color shown above I felt like that was it. Jeff and I both agreed the color would look beautiful on her. I chose the softest yarn I could find, with alpaca in it, at Cozy yarn shop. (The yarn is Blue Sky Fibers Bulky.)
With the bulky yarn, the cowl knit up quickly and I kept knitting until I ran out of yarn. From one mama to another, I really wanted to give her a gift that felt pampering. (The definition says to indulge with every attention, comfort, and kindness. Couldn’t all mamas use a little extra pampering?) I wanted to give her a little something to wrap her up in some extra love. And something extra soft at that! When she got the cowl in the mail for her birthday and tried it on, she told me that it felt like a warm hug. I can’t tell you how much that warmed my heart because that is exactly how I wanted her to feel! With each gift that I knit, I want the recipient to feel like they are being wrapped up in a warm hug. I want them to feel loved, because they are.

Hi Trudy! Sorry you had troubles downloading the pattern. I just went to try to download it again to see if I had any problems, I was able to download it no problem. I clicked on the link that is in the description of the pattern. Did you click that one?
