I realized on Saturday that I hadn’t taken any pictures at the Farmer’s Market for awhile. And the Farmer’s Market in August is a beautiful sight to behold, so I stepped out of our booth and headed over with my camera.
::Carrots, Kale, Cauliflower from Lost Creek Farm::
::Sausages, Pastured Eggs from Deck Family Farm::
(They also had some stewing chickens on sale for $13 each.)
::Mushrooms, Tinctures, Dried Mushrooms from The Mushroomery::
::Yellow Crookneck Squash, Zucchini from Sacred Soil Farm::
::Onions, Melons, Greens and more from McKenzie River Farm::
::Onions, Flowers, Radishes… at different booths along our walk::
::Garlic, Onions, Corn, Kale Chips, Hazelnuts and Trail Mix from Honor Earth Farm::
(Check out Linda’s awesome shirt that she scored at the thrift store. It cracked me up.)
(She shares a booth with SLO Farm and the produce might have been grown by them, not sure.)
::Applesauce, Apples, Plums, Green beans, Blackberries from SLO Farm::
(Their Gravenstein Apples are an early variety and we’ve been really enjoying them.)
I asked this lady walking by if I could take a picture of her bag. She said yes and told me her brother made it for her.
Then she showed me the other side.
::Watermelon, Basil from Sweet Leaf Farm::
.
Our family loves going to the Farmer’s Market! And we love supporting local farms as much as possible. You know exactly where you’re money is going, you get to thank your farmer face to face, and you get to bless your family with healthy food grown right in your community. It’s wonderful on so many levels.
