…Knitting…
Here is a sneak peak at Bracken’s Bear Hoodie for Halloween!
On market on Saturday Jeff and Bracken went to buy some chicken feed and some groceries, while I watched our booth. It was early in the day and there were no customers in our booth yet, so I got lots of knitting done. On Monday the hood was ready to stitch up, so I worked on that during Bracken’s nap. I learned how to do the mattress stitch for the first time by following the directions in Stitch ‘N Bitch. This morning I woke up before Bracken and knitted the ears and attached them. And then the final touch: added a WoolyMossRoots Button in reclaimed birdseye maple burl wood. I love this pattern and the way it turned out.
Today we went outside to take a few pictures and I put the knitted hoodie over a striped jacket he had that was kind of bulky. I’ll have to find something else (less bulky, but still warm) in brown before Halloween. I think Bracken will get a lot of use out of this hoodie. I wouldn’t have knit something if I thought he’d only wear it once (for Halloween, that is.) I will show you more pictures when he wears this for Halloween. This was only meant to be a peek, but then I started taking more pictures than I expected. Bracken makes such a good bear.
…Reading…
Last week I said I wanted to read something that would give my brain a break and my creative spirit a boost. So I grabbed ‘The Creative Family’ by Amanda Soule. I’m reading through it for the second time and right now it’s just the book for me. Full of inspiration, fun projects, and I just love it.
