…Knitting…
Forgive my picture, I took it late yesterday after the sun started dipping behind the mountain. I’ve picked up the Milo Vest for Bracken again. I would have been finished with it by now (I started it last winter I believe), but I’ve had a lot of hang ups with the owl I wanted to do on the front. How many times have I ripped it out and re-done it by now? I lost track, honestly. The problem was that all the owl charts that I had were for purled backgrounds, so they didn’t look right when I put them on a knitted background. I tried changing one of the charts a bit and it didn’t turn out right either. I searched for owl charts to use on a knitted background, no luck. Finally I just decided to make the background of the vest purled to work with the owl chart I wanted to use. So now I’m making progress again and it’s actually looking like an owl, yay! It’s getting very cold here and Bracken could use another cozy vest right now.
…Reading…
I’m reading ‘The Paleo Approach: Reverse Autoimmune Disease and Heal Your Body’ by Ballantyne. I felt like I was guided to this book and as soon as I saw it I had such a strong intuition that I needed to read it. Though neither Jeff or I have been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, I’m finding the information in this book extremely valuable for our family. ‘Gut and Psychology Syndrome’ has the best information about how the digestive system works that I’ve found anywhere and I’m finding this book is also filled with lots of good information regarding that and many other things. Learning about the inner workings of the human body truly amazes me and fills me with awe!
How about you? Knitting? Reading?

The milo looks beautiful, just love how you knit that owl. It’s always a pleasure seeing your knitting projects. This book looks interesting must see if I can get a copy as I was diagnosed with 2 autoimmune diseases after the birth of my daughter 2 years ago. Healthy eating has become so important to me as it makes such a difference to how I feel & my energy levels

I enjoy reading about the connection between our gut and our overall health. I was diagnosed with colitis by one gastroenterologist and with Crohn’s disease by another. I wasn’t buying it. They told me I would have to be on steroids for the rest of my life. Um, no thanks! So, I took a different approach. By working with a nutritionist, I was able to get rid of my digestive problems. I still take a few supplements but am prescription med free. I checked a lot of Paleo books out from the library over the last year. I think you would really enjoy reading some of the things in “Practical Paleo”. The author talks about fixing all kinds of problems by adjusting your diet. I also like “Against all grain.” The author’s story in that book really hit home with me.
