Little Red Barn Produce was born out of my love for gardening and wanting to grow good food to help feed my large family. However, I always grew too much! So, in order to find a way to both provide my family with healthy, naturally grown, fresh food, and to make the best use of our resources, I started Little Red Barn Produce. I sell my produce on Lanelocalfoods.com, and at the Veneta Downtown Farmers Market. In addition we also provide weekly produce boxes. And yes, we do deliver! (=

Jean’s farm is about 30 minutes from where we live and our family has very much enjoyed the delicious produce she’s grown over the years. She inspired us to grow spaghetti squash in our garden this year because we loved the ones we got from her so much. (And she even shared the seeds with us.) This year she started selling at the farmer’s market in Veneta, Oregon and also on the online farmer’s market: Lane Local Foods. Welcome back Jean! What’s new on your farm and in your shop since the last time you were here?
Jean: New Items are Peach Jam, made with peaches grown here on our farm, and Lemon Verbena Goat’s Milk Soap!
I have been focusing on what products my customers like and want the most. For my Fresh vegetable Customers next season I plan on More Carrots and believe it or not Brussels sprouts! They are very popular.
I am also working on more fermented foods for my customers at Lane local foods. I have several varieties of Sauerkraut there.
For the Etsy shop I have realized I may never reach 50 or 100 listings or more like many shops, However, my products are a great addition to holiday gift baskets! They add a nice touch that shows the giver cared and put alot of thought into the gift to gather and assemble handmade items.
