{ G r a t i t u d e * S u n d a y :: Sunday’s heartfelt tradition.
A time to slow down, to reflect, to be grateful. A list of gratitudes.}

Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
…Bracken pointing to a swallowtail butterfly on a dahlia in the garden and then being in the right place at the right time with my camera to capture some pictures of it. Butterflies don’t stay still long, so I was grateful for the opportunity.
.
…Bringing all the laundry in off the line before it rained. It’s the little things, right?
.
…Some peaceful moments of sitting and knitting in the garden while Jeff and Bracken picked blackberries. I rarely do that, but it was such a gift to myself on that Sunday evening.
.
…The tuna with jalapenos that our friends canned and shared with us. It was delicious. And it made an easy dinner on top of a salad one night when we were hungry and tired.
.
…Cleaning out the nesting boxes in the chicken coop and putting in fresh straw.
.
…Easy knitting I can bring along with me anywhere.
.
…Taking everything out of our refrigerator, cleaning it, and then organizing it all as I put it back. That felt good!
.
…Making pesto with the basil Jeff brought in from the garden. It was the best pesto I’ve ever made (in fact it was hard to save some for meals and not just eat it all with a spoon right then and there) and I can’t wait to make more.
.
…Sunshine after many cloudy days in a row. It makes it feel like summer again. Though I’m certainly grateful for the rain we got during our dry season.
.
…Such an abundance of lettuce in the garden that we’ve been eating as many salads as we’ve wanted to and then still having extra to bring a salad to a get together.
