{G r a t i t u d e * S u n d a y :: Sunday’s heartfelt tradition. A time to slow down, to reflect, to be grateful. A list of gratitude.}

Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
…Looking at the clouds, even if for a moment as I remember to gaze up.
.
…A home day when you really need one.
.
…Our first day of the year with windows open and the screen door too. How wonderful it feels when we get that fresh air in the house. (It was also our first day being barefoot in the garden, the weather is changing!)
.
…Baking dinner with lots and lots of garlic. Yum! And having Bracken offer to help peel garlic from time to time, since it’s something he often enjoys doing in the kitchen.
.
…Trying new things in the kitchen. It’s good to stretch myself out of my comfort zone of what I feel comfortable making and preparing, and get myself out of my kitchen ruts.
.
…The bliss of sleeping in when you don’t need to wake up by a certain time, or go anywhere, and you are especially tired and really need the sleep.
.
…Our chickens giving us lots of eggs. The eggs really slowed down over the winter to where we were hardly getting any, so we’re grateful to have plenty of eggs again. (Especially with how much we spend on chicken feed.)
.
…Magical, healing homemade chicken broth. I hadn’t made any in quite some time and it made for such an amazing soup that felt so deeply nourishing.
.
…Going through all my clothes and getting rid of everything that I don’t wear. There were clothes I kept because I liked them, but they were not comfortable or didn’t fit me right and it was time to pass them along.
.
…The joy I feel when I want to start a new knitting project and see that I already have the exact knitting needles I need, so I can start right away, rather than waiting until the next town trip to go to a yarn shop. Little things, right?
.
…Having friends make a long drive to come over to our house and spend time together. We really appreciated them coming.
