{G r a t i t u d e * S u n d a y :: Sunday’s heartfelt tradition. A time to slow down, to reflect, to be grateful. A list of gratitude.}

Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
…The little lizard friend that Bracken found near the pond. It hung out on our front porch for days, living right above our front door so we could say hello to it every time we walked in the house.
.
…Traveling. And seeing new places -fresh and exciting- and familiar places -comforting and well known. I enjoy them both.
.
…A friend surprising us with a beautiful and thoughtful meal, even though she had so much on her plate that day. She’s so sweet like that.
.
…Jeff having a feeling to check the oil level in our car, which was a good thing because it was really low.
.
…The small spring turnips from a nearby farm that were so delicious in the chicken soup I made. They’ve been so tender and seem to taste especially good right now.
.
…Bracken cracking us up when he ate mint in the garden and then chased us around breathing his peppermint breath on us and calling himself “The Peppermint Dragon”. (Breathing peppermint instead of fire, I was informed.)
.
…The smell of lilacs. And Jeff putting some in a vase since they were fading fast and we wanted to enjoy them longer.
.
…Having an “egg day” to get caught up a bit on all the eggs that were piling up in our fridge. I baked frittatas, baked eggs in muffin tins like mini frittatas (my mom’s suggestion), and hardboiled egg. Eggs, eggs, eggs!
.
…Touching movies that make me cry and funny movies that make me laugh. Tears and laughter both feel healing, and I love a good movie.
.
…Wearing my special earrings yesterday that Bracken made me, which pleased him greatly. He asked if the day was going to be sunny because “the earrings look really good with light shining through.” He’s right, and luckily it was sunny. (I’ll have to share a picture of them sometime.)
