{G r a t i t u d e * S u n d a y :: Sunday’s heartfelt tradition. A time to slow down, to reflect, to be grateful. A list of gratitude.}

Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
…Fresh garden greens. And the man who grows them and harvests them. Happy Father’s Day Jeff! And speaking of that, Happy Father’s Day Dad! Love you both so much!
.
…Our grocery list shrinking when the garden abundance grows. It’s been so wonderful to not have to buy lettuce at the store, but to have greens from our own yard for all our salads. (We eat a lot of salads around here!)
.
…Every time Bracken enjoys a book we are reading together so much that he continually asks me for reading breaks throughout the day. “…Just one more page! …Just one more chapter!”
.
…Mopping the kitchen floor with a very enthusiastic helper. Picking up toys might not sound that exciting or appealing to said helper lately, but mopping the floors most definitely is.
.
…Taking care of the chickens and gathering eggs while Bracken harvested peas and strawberries, and Jeff thinned starts. It had been a long day filled with errands in town and we were all so happy to have some quiet moments in the garden before dinner.
.
…Stretching myself past my comfort zone when I’m feeling shy or nervous, and knowing that I’m growing when I do.
.
…Jeff having a creative idea for dinner when I was too tired and hungry to come up with anything. Usually we have a plan for dinner early in the day, but sometimes when the day is an especially busy one it just sneaks up on you.
.
…The giant moth that Jeff and Bracken found in the greenhouse. It was so beautiful (too dark by that time of day to take a picture.) It had been injured when they found it and I loved seeing how carefully Bracken cared for it and tried to bring it back to health. (It’s quite often that he is helping injured butterflies and moths, he adores them.)
.
…Cleaning the kitchen while I listened to Spanish guitar music. That’s been my favorite music to listen to lately for inspiring cleaning and cooking.
.
…Feeling less scattered and being able to focus better when the house is more picked up. (It’s no small task to keep it that way, so I guess it makes me appreciate it all the more when things are tidy!)
